Organizational Meeting for "Inaugurate the Revolution"

Sunday, December 11, 2016 - 3:00pm

On January 20th, 2017, Donald Trump will be sworn in as the President of the United States.  Many in our community worry about the negative impacts his presidency will have on vulnerable populations, our healthcare system, public education, the environment, and the economy.  Many wonder how we might collectively resist the elimination of our civil liberties and the erosion of democracy itself.

In order to position power in the hands of the people and to creatively respond to the threats posed by the incoming Trump administration, we decline to inaugurate a new president on January 20.  Instead, we propose to Inaugurate the Revolution.

There will be an organizational meeting for the Inaugurate the Revolution events this Sunday, December 11, at 3pm. We will meet at the Wendell W. Wright School of Education Building, in the Auditorium, located on the IU campus. The School of Ed Building is located at 201 N. Rose Ave. right near the Jordan Parking Deck off Jordan Ave. Parking in the deck is free on Sunday. A link to the IU campus map and the Wright Building is attached below.

We will be discussing concrete plans for the day of activities on 1/20, as we Inaugurate the Revolution. Please bring your ideas on workshops, educational events, performances, and other activities you would like to see. Bring yourself, bring friends, tell your activist colleagues. We need everyone’s energies and commitment to make the day a success and to prepare for the hard work of building a progressive alternative.
