Campaign for Citizenship Vigil

Please join us to share our prayers and our stories on how Hoosier Families are Stronger Together. We will gather in the sanctuary of St. Bartholomew Church, Columbus, Indiana, from 7:00 to 8:30pm. Both recent immigrants, and those that came long ago, will share their stories exploring how Indiana has for centuries been the finding place of milk and honey for so many.

Despite Flaws, Senate Immigration Bill is Worth Supporting

Written by Milton Fisk

While I never approved of the for-profit health insurance industry, I
eventually supported the Affordable Care Act. Nor do I now support
buying 400 miles of border fencing or the long waits for legal status
which the recently passed Senate immigration bill requires, even though
I would now support that bill. Not all support need be unqualified, and
mine in these cases is critical support.

Immigration Reform--or Lack of It--Will Affect Us All

Congress and President Obama are in the midst of negotiating the terms of a comprehensive immigration reform package. No matter your position on the issue, most people recognize that reforming our system for incorporating new arrivals is long past due. While some are focusing on border security and punitive measures for those already here, South Central Indiana Jobs with Justice believes those efforts are misguided. Those calling for stricter enforcement and deportation miss the benefits that truly progressive immigration reform will bring, not just for immigrants, but for all of us.
